Open-IT consultants were involved in the early development of the concept of model driven development through work on the RM-ODP (Reference Model of Open Distributed Processing).

Open-IT consultants have been involved in the OMG activity on Model Driven Architecture (MDA) and have made a major contribution to the successful submission of a UML Profile for EDOC (Enterprise Distributed Object Computing) which was an early example of MDA thinking.
